Principal - Craig Barrow.
M.Div (hons),B.A.(Theol), Dip.Bib.S.

When I was about 18 I went through a major time of trying to figure out who God was, and therefore who I was in relation to Him. I had been living in Hamilton for two years attending Waikato Polytechnic working on a computer programming course. During this time I got pretty lost in a number of ways. After this I ended up at the NZ Assembly Bible School, where God confronted me with Himself and His incredible care for me while I was working on an assignment in the book of Luke. This completely changed who I was. I worked for the NZ Dairy Group of Companies (Fonterra) for three years in the IT department, and then headed to the United States to Study Theology in 1993. I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1997 with a B.A. majoring in Theology, and then from Denver Seminary in 2000 with an M.Div. I returned to NZ and pastored a church in Cambridge for eight years, before starting here at Pathways College mid-2008. I have a passion for presenting the Bible in a relevant and applicable way. Therefore, I love the combination of study and ministry Pathways offers students and churches.

Ministry Internship Co-Ordinator - Chris Opie.
B.mus, Post-graduate Diploma in Theology (in progress)

I grew up in Tauranga under the wonderful direction of my parents who were pastors of a Brethren church. I was always challenged on issues of faith, and God seemed to reveal Himself in different ways throughout my childhood. When I was about 11 I went to a camp at Totara Springs. There I heard a message from an Australian Worship Leader that lead me to make a decision to follow Christ. It was a challenge of who are you living for and what are you worshipping that really made me think of what my life would stand for. After High School I moved to Wellington where I completed a degree in Jazz performance and then worked and played as a professional musician. After a couple of years God lead me into ministry where I became the Worship Pastor at The Street City Church in Wellington. I served here for the next seven years. This gave me a great platform to experience and test what worship really is. It also gave me opportunities to play throughout NZ and around the world the original music that God had blessed me with. All this has lead me to discover that I have a huge passion to see churches around NZ equipped to lead God's people in true, Spirit filled worship. I am married to the wonderful Mary Opie, and we have an awesome son named Reuben.

After an early interest in pastoral work, God surprised us by leading my wife and I to serve in Papua New Guinea and Nigeria for 15 years. My primary ministries have been theological education and mission leadership. A growing passion has become the development of Christian leadership which was the focus of my doctoral studies. I am excited to contribute to the preparation of pastoral leaders through Pathways. I am also involved in the spiritual enrichment and professional development of missionaries globally. Administrator - Marion Hicks

It's amazing how and where God leads you! How does a trained nurse end up being an administrator for a Bible College? After our three boys started school, I headed back into nursing. But I had to decide whether nursing was going to be my "career" or what else did I want to invest my life in. For me it was more important to be caring for people's spiritual lives rather than only caring for their physical needs. About this time Ngaire Ave Church asked me to work as their administrator, which I did for eight years. Then in 2008 Pathways College asked me to work as their student administrator. I love it. Seeing how the students grow and mature in their faith has been so exciting. The Ministry and Leadership Internship courses are awesome - it changes the students' lives as they are able to apply what they are learning throughout the year.

Office Administrator -
Trish Coggan.

I am enjoying my new role as office administrator at Pathways. I spent 11 years as the Administrator at West City Christian College and God has once again given me an opportunity to use my giftings, working alongside a great team. I was raised in Dargaville but have lived in Auckland for almost 30 years. Our family (husband Garry and three adult sons) all worship together at West City Christian Centre. I love interacting with people from different cultures and generations and this year I became a volunteer with the Salvation Army, visiting and praying with elderly folk who are in residential homes.
