Helen Hartfield Registrar and Pastoral Care Coordinator Pathways College

Dip CM, Cert. Min. Dev.

Helen's passion is pastoral care. Drawing on previous Christian studies, a number of years as a mum to 4 now-adult children, and time in ministry, she gets excited to nurture and care for the students at Pathways. She finds it so rewarding to see them develop spiritually as they seek out what God wants for their lives.

This is what Pathways is all about. Students getting to know God more, building theur Christian character and preparing them for life in ministry. Helen feels delighted to have been provided the opportunity to contribute to this.

Josephine Barrow Online Courses Coordinator Pathways College

M.A. (Theol/Couns), B.A. (Theol) (Hons)

She may be head honcho of our online courses—but Josephine's own theological education began long before online was even "a thing". Back when "the web" meant a spider's home, Jose studied theology at both Moody Bible Institute and Denver Seminary for seven years. Before all that, she was raised in New Zealand in a committed Christian household. She herself came to faith as a kid, continuing a legacy of evangelical faith that goes back 4–5 generations.

Jose joined Pathways Online in 2014 during its infancy. She counts it a real privilege to have been involved with the online programme from its planning stages right through to today, where it's a thriving and diverse community of learners. What does she love so much about it? She loves making theological formation accessible to everyone—men and women from all ages and stages of life—in whatever way works best for them.

Rosie Devery

School of Worship Leading Coordinator
BMus (Jazz Perf), DipCM

Rosie Devery grew up in Auckland as well as spending much of her childhood in India. Growing up in a missionary family with an undeniable sense of the presence of God led to the personal joy of knowing there is nothing better than a life lived with Jesus!

Rosie oversees the School of Worship Leading (SOWL) which Pathways launched in 2012. She started worship leading while studying a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance at Auckland University. After a distinct prompting from God during a Sunday morning service she got involved in the leadership of the worship team at her home church, and ended up being a SOWL student herself in 2014. God eventually led Rosie into ministry as a Worship Pastor at Lifezone Church until 2017, and as Tauranga Hub Leader for Worship Central NZ.

SOWL takes worship leaders on an incredible journey of growth as they wrestle with what worship is, what worship leading is, and what that means for the Church today. Rosie is passionate about seeing worship leaders around Aotearoa empowered and inspired to lead God's people in true, Spirit-filled worship.
