Last year Arron Hockly from Crossroads Church was invited to help care for a group of children while their parents attended English language class at the church.
This began a journey which has seen him join the 2024 mid-year intake for the Pathways Bible College internship programme.
Being involved in the children’s group at 'Let’s talk English' sparked a passion in Arron to learn more about ministry with children. He started volunteering at Crossroad Kids on Sunday mornings where he has been given opportunities to lead and teach the Bible to children.
Arron’s experience in ministry with children at Crossroads fed a desire to build a strong biblical foundation from which he could teach the truths of the Bible to children.
The internship blends hands-on experience in the local church under the supervision of experienced leaders and biblical study at block courses throughout the semester which is a great fit for Arron as he continues to serve at Crossroads.
Leanne Brown, Children’s Pastor, and Arron’s Ministry Mentor says, “Arron is super keen and teachable. It’s so exciting to see someone young and enthusiastic for learning, inspiring children and teaching God’s Word.” Arron is pictured above being prayed for by the Crossroads team after sharing about his theological study.
Arron’s study is partly funded by Lichfield Lands Internship Support Scholarship.
He says, “I never expected to study again, but God had a different plan. I have been called to study and called into an internship. And now that I am here, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
