Rio was appointed to the Pathways Board in 2025, having a diverse career in healthcare. His passion is enabling people to thrive no matter their life circumstances. He hopes to apply his knowledge and life skills serving on the Pathways Board.

Rio and his wife Sara have volunteered in various Christian and secular NGOs across Kenya, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

He holds a Bachelor of Health Science (AUT), Dip of Information Technology (UniSA) and PGCert in Business (Waikato University).

He attends Lifezone Church where he serves alongside his wife and two children.

His home is filled with too many indoor plants, boardgames and a constant stream of livestream sports.
